Scientific Expertise & Achievements
Lucid Pharma 3DS was founded by Richard Jarjes-Pike, an experienced medicinal chemist and drug discovery scientist with expertise spanning hit identification, hit-to-lead, lead optimisation and early translational programme development across small molecule therapeutics.
Following DPhil study in organic chemistry at the University of Oxford, 2 years post doctoral research at the University of Nottingham and over 15 years were spent working within pharmaceutical and biotechnology discovery environments supporting the progression of discovery stage assets across multiple therapeutic areas.
This work included:
• Contribution to a named clinical-stage compound progressing into Phase 2 studies.
• Participation in discovery activities contributing to successful biotechnology asset generation and company acquisition.
• Inventor status on 12 patent filings over 3 therapeutic targets.
• Medicinal chemistry and project leadership across pre-clinical discovery programmes.
• CRO and external collaboration management.
• Experience across multiple therapeutic areas and modalities including neurodegeneration, metabolic diseases, ion channels, oncology, GPCRs and targeted protein degradation.
Alongside extensive medicinal chemistry expertise, experience includes cross-functional project coordination integrating computational chemistry, biology, DMPK, intellectual property strategy and external research partnerships to support efficient progression of early discovery programmes.
Lucid Pharma 3DS was established to combine practical medicinal chemistry experience with modern molecular design approaches to support both external discovery collaborations and internally generated therapeutic opportunities.
Current activities include development of the Radianz MDE molecular design platform and exploration of differentiated small molecule opportunities within metabolic disease, including GLP-1 receptor agonist programme.
Areas of expertise include:
• Medicinal chemistry strategy
• Hit identification and triage
• Hit-to-lead and lead optimisation
• Scaffold design and SAR analysis
• Molecular property optimisation
• Pre-clinical discovery planning
• CRO coordination and scientific oversight
• Intellectual property-oriented medicinal chemistry support
Lucid Pharma 3DS is open to discussions regarding consultancy, strategic collaborations and early-stage partnering opportunities.
